Aired December 1, 2010 on BBC Two
Professor Brian Cox uses this year's Huw Wheldon Memorial Lecture to address the main challenges in bringing science to television. He tackles the risks in simplifying science for a television audience, the perils of abandoning fact in the name of balance and the importance of making science on television intellectually and emotionally engaging.

  4. Brian cox is a reincarnated version of Carl Sagan. Even though they were both alive at the same time, somehow it happened.

  5. A destinct possibility. Never been overly impressed with Tyson, the other candidate. While I respect his credentials, I've always suspected he tries too hard, too assumptive of the title and MUCH too asssertive

While I respect his credentials, I've always suspected he tries too hard, too assumptive of the title and MUCH too lime-lighting. His last televised"discussion" was one long Tyson interruption. His attempts at interjecting humour into his science presentations are sometimes downright silly.</span>

  8. A wonderful presentation by a wonderful presenter. A true heir to Carl Sagan. A wonderful voice for science and reason. Too bad he isn't American. Athough Tyson is pretty good he is no Brian Cox.
