From CNN:
The Creation Museum will announce details Wednesday afternoon of its planned expansion.

Answers In Genesis, which built and operates the religious-themed attraction, plans to build a full-scale wooden replica of Noah's Ark based on biblical descriptions.

The $24.5 million project will be constructed by the same team that built the Creation Museum.

The religious ministry is soliciting online donations to help construct the project, which they expect to draw an estimated 1.6 million visitors per year.

Ken Ham, president and CEO of Answers In Genesis, cites poll data showing that an estimated 63 percent of Americans would visit a full-scale replica of Noah's Ark if one were built in the U.S.

  3. So its good taste to tell the story were god killed everyone on earth except one family?

  4. Sounds good.  Can't wait till the first video of someone going through the ark and asking the people who work there "where are the elephants?  where are the tigers?  where are the....."  and see how many animals they had to leave out due to space issues.

It is so odd..Noah didn't need any donations or money to make the origonal.

  7. Let's home they keep the two lions and the two zebras at opposite ends. And the freshwater fish away from the bears. And the mosquitoes away from the humans. and the ants from the anteaters ... oh, you get the picture.

  8. jeez, they really do take it literally ...

  9. Why do they need donations if they expect such high visitation numbers?  Once again, religion for profit.

  10. They want to spend $24.5 MILLION on a model boat? I have to ask: how many homeless people could be housed for $24.5 million? How many children could be lifted out of poverty with $24.5 million? How many war orphans could be re-homed with $24.5 million? How much valuable, life-saving scientific research could be carried out for $24.5 million? The absolutely failure of moral judgement or any sense of value amongst these people simply beggars belief.

  11. if they fill the ark, won't they piss off the animal rights people?

  12. All you need is an ancient carpenter and his kids and some good old 4,500 year-old know-how.

  13. I wonder if the ark will have bodies lying around and peple drowning like the way the Brick Testament does in its flood story?

  14. I wonder how many people I could feed with my CD collection, my computer, my iPod,  my books, the movies I rent, my cups of coffee,... and my savings? In so far as a moral right, I never complain about what people do with their own money. If they don't have a right to their money, then I don't have a right to mine. I give some to charity, but I can't take on a moral obligation for all those you mention; otherwise, I'd have no life at all. You are free to give away everything you earn and everything you have; go for it.

  15. The incompatibility of science and religion is showing its ugly face with a vengeance. Religion needs and perpetuates unreason and needs and perpetuates ignorance? I think so.

  16. this is wast of money and land that can be use for something more useful

  17. I think this project will be a disaster. Think of all the people that will need to be hired just to maintain the ark. Then they will try to pitch that 7 people did it all. Oh and will all the 300 million different species of beetle be on the ark as well?

  18. I just want a video of it being built only from wood, then collapse under it's own weight.

  20. They say they expect to have live animals inside. Aren't they worried about the fact that those animals will never be able to see the light of day?

  21. I bet it will get struck by lightning and the insurance company will refuse to reimburse them because it was an act of God just like touchdown Jesus.

  22. They don't care. They're a bunch of hypocrites of the highest order.

  23. There's a difference. Your ipod, t.v.. etc has nothing do what a religous figure claiming to give all to the poor. The ark is expicitly biblical and christian, if Jesus was who he says he was, he would outright condemn this waste of money.

There is a difference between possesions you own, and possesions that are claimed to be affliated with Jesus Christ.

This ark is an outrage, and a complete waste of money.

  24. The more shit like this happens the more I wonder if we are in some dream.  Reality wouldn't have things like this.

  25. Full-scale huh? Well, to hold every species on Earth, it would have to take up several states.

  26. They're not even that original. This has already been done in The Netherlands:

  28. At last something physical that the deluded twits can point to and say "there it is, that proves it". What would get the punters in, would be a gawd they could point to as proof of its existance. What would it look like?

  29. What, no kids on the ark? I guess they were all unrighteous and had to be destroyed.

    ReplyDelete
  30. Give it a chance! Personally I'm looking forward to seeing the model of that cool space shuttle Noah used to fetch all those animals outside the range of his front door.

  36. Once again religion is trying to push itself on others with the government. It's trying to make itself look big and important because it doesn't have reason to go on. I hope these people are sued, slapped with the constitution, and it doesn't happen. If it does then we will just have another gigantic example why atheists need to come out and explain why they believe what they believe because if we don't, this backwards and irrational thinking will be pushed on everyone. This is the US and even here religion is trying to make itself a theocracy.

Today, lots of websites and blogs bring in unheard of income
for their owners merely by promoting another's company on their web pages.
Daily, even hourly, businesses can see how many
individuals clicked on their ads and the traffic that is being
    driven to their website.
