  1. Person 1: "You guys!  Religion is denying evolution!"

Person 2: "Well, that's their constitutional right to free speech.  They have the right to teach and say whatever they want, even if it is nonsesne."

Person 1: "Well this one pastor is also an open John McCain supporter."

Person 2: 'What?!  HOW DARE HE!!!"

Not saying that churches should be tax exempt.  Just saying that the only thing more hypocritical and worth fearing than religion is government.

  7. Would you guys help me?

I never understood how the Mormons could legally donate to prop 8 in California. Can someone enlightenment me on the legality of that? It seems to me that a non-profit organization shouldn't be able to weigh into politics.

  9. I'm not missing the point.  Go to a progressive New York chruch and you'll see jsut as much politics from the pulpit going the other way, it's jsut that somehow that's not considered conflating church and state.  Jesus Marx our great savior and such.  But see it's okay because when the President appeals to faith organizations to promote his health care bill, that's totally cool, and completely not mixing the two.

Like I said, I'm not missing the point, I jsut value free expression and have enough credibility to side with religious people when they're right and not always play the identity politics game where I side with the atheists simply because they're the atheists.

So please, fill me in on what "the point" is that I'm missing?

  10. Didn't this baptist read Mark?

"<span>And Jesus answering said unto them, Render to Caesar the things that are Caesar's, and to God the things that are God's. And they marvelled at him.</span>" - Mark 12:17
