Coming soon, it's all NEW on Discovery! Take a sneak peek at Bad Universe, a new series starring Phil Plait, an astronomer on a mission to debunk all the the junk myths about the universe
This could be great and I will definitely keep an eye out for it. I just hope it doesn't turn out to be a mediocre mythbuster-styled knockoff. And for a completely new series it seems focused on a rather narrow subject matter, mostly focusing on asteroid impacts. Ah well. There's probably a lot more to it.
Looks like a televised version of his book Death from the Skies. Maybe it would start with topics from the book and continue to other things if ratings would be good.
It's amazing how much sensationalism is required to capture the public audience's attention. Did you see how many explosions were in that clip? Did you hear the dramatic claims (probably put there for dramatic effect only)such as "It just may save your life!?" Still, I'm glad to see another skeptically-oriented show on t.v., here's to hoping its entertainment value will capture enough viewers to warrant many years of success!

Dead
ReplyDeleteSo that's what Phil has been up to.
ReplyDeleteIt's like if Brian Cox ran mythbusters.
