The Vatican on Thursday strongly defended its decision not to defrock an American priest accused of molesting some 200 deaf boys in Wisconsin and denounced what it called a campaign to smear Pope Benedict XVI and his aides.

  2. This timeline on Murphy is really good.

Not to defend Ratzinger or anything, but he could have been fooled by Murphy's poisoned rationality. After all, I doubt Ratzinger is a sex disorder expert to see the twisted logic in statements like: "It was sex education for them. They were confused about sex." and "There was rampant homosexuality among the older boys. I fixed the problem."

  3. Hey, 200 kids? Defrock him, hell, they will probably erect a statute to celebrate his prowess. Maybe even make him a saint.
