Q&A: Christopher Hitchens

Christopher Hitchens, contributing editor to Vanity Fair and the Atlantic Monthly, discusses his current paperback, "God is Not Great: How Religion Poisons Everything." The book was a New York Times Bestseller and a finalist for The National Book Award. Program from Sunday, April 26, 2009.

  1. He is in such a higher intellectual class, at least publicly, than Dawkins and Harris (though I love listening and reading both of them too).

  2. He's extremely smart, but I don't think you can say he's "in a higher intellectual class" than Dawkins and Harris. He speaks very eloquently, but I don't think what he's saying is neccessarily more deep or intellectual than Dawkins or Harris. Not that it would matter.

  3. He is a master speaker for sure, but I'm not sure it speaks so much necessarily for intellect. Many politicians are good speakers as well but not very bright.
