Michael Savage on Islam

  1. While I agree with the spirit of Savage's rant: ie that Islam is generally more violent, backward and dangerous than the other two Abrahamic faiths he was not factually accurate in his statements about Muslim's being required to "convert or kill" Christians and Jews. Pagans and unbelievers are obligated to convert, however, Christians and Jews are considered "people of the book" and exempted. In fact there are a number of Quanic verses which prohibit forcable conversion eg: 2.256 "Let there be no compulsion in religion: Truth stands out clear from Error: whoever rejects evil and believes in Allah hath grasped the most trustworthy hand-hold, that never breaks. And Allah heareth and knoweth all things." The general view, however, is that this only applies to the above stated "people of the book" and so you or I would still be in trouble.

  2. ahhh .... slightly one sided :-(

The idea that Christianity is proper because it is a degree less extreme than Islam is laughable.

All organized religions which incorporate human authorities are tyrannical.

We'd all be better of if they tyrants were the one put to death.
