From WorldNetDaily:
Republican presidential candidate Mike Huckabee told the Christian Broadcasting Network he had a theology degree, he told voters in Iowa he had a theology degree, he repeated the claim in last month's CNN YouTube debate ... but, his campaign now says, it was not true...Read more at Dvorak(via Dvorak Uncensored)
Splitting hairs.
ReplyDeleteHe studied theology and, hell, he even majored in religion. Is that not the "study of 'god'" or something?
Besides, CBN is crap journalism to begin with. Robertson has his stakes on Gulianni.
It's a non-issue if people know any better.
Oh well.
Um... do you know you have a big Ann Coulter ad on your site? Since she's no friend of atheists, I assume it's just Google's ad-placing algorithm doing what it does, and not an endorsement on your part. But Google does allow you to block certain advertisers. Maybe Ms Coulter doesn't need any more attention than she already gets?
ReplyDeleteThanks for letting me know. I don't see the ad here, but i can block it if i have the URL.
ReplyDeletebtw chat.anncoulter.com has been referring many visitors here lately (to the Dennett-D'Souza debate).
Pah. Theology degree. How can someone be an expert in the unknowable?
ReplyDeleteI remember Jimmy Carter claiming he was a "nuclear physicist" (yeah I'm that old) and it was the same kind of thing to where Carter's degree was in Naval Engineering which included operating nuclear submarines and he tried to play it off like that was what he ment all along. Terms like "pysicist" and "theologen" have fairly specific meanings in the real world and a BS from a tech school or a BA from a Bible college do not qualify in either case. In both cases the motive was to deceive, quite frankly.
ReplyDeleteWhat happened to thou shalt not lie!?
