In a wide-ranging special interview, Jeremy Paxman talks to Christopher Hitchens about his cancer diagnosis, his life, his politics and his writing.
After a recent debate, the Hitchens fans here registered what could only be described as stomach-turning Messianic Worship, love, and near-tears compassion and admiration for their dying Hero Advocate. So here's a post (sans Hitch's usual raizer-sharp opponent elimination) about his cancer diagnosis, his life, his politics and his writing. Interesting as it gets, and I'm only a minor fan.Not a comment here, not even the usual maudlin one, and the interview has been posted for a while.Tells you something about the vacuity of the admiration, doesn't it.
Looks like Darth Vader sans helmet.
It may suggest that fans are usually more vocal than admirers, but not that the latter camp is empty. It seems odd that you'd consider insincere blabber, over what may be silent awe, an improvement.
