Steve Kroft profiles famous microbiologist J. Craig Venter, whose scientists have already mapped the human genome and created what he calls "the first synthetic species."
Question to Venter: Do you believe in God? Answer by Venter: No. I believe the Universe is far more wonerful than just assuming it was made by some higher power.
Undoubtedly, millions of U.S. middle and high school students watched this. I hope and expect that it'll give some of them the incentive to say "no" to religious madness and to work in the field of "the software of life." I don't see how youngsters with an interest in science could fail to be excited by this interview.
Craig is awesome. I`ve been following him for years and it is aways exciting to see what scientific "miracle" he will bring to humanity next..
ReplyDeleteAnd biogenetics is even more awesome...I mean, can you imagine our world say 50 years from now?...
