  1. That female Anglican priest really made herself look like a complete moron in this interview.

  2. Having faith based schools is one of the biggest mistakes a scoiety can make. Unfortunately in Britain religion is a fundamental part of the structure of the political system (bishops in the HoL). The only saving grace is that Fundamentalist Christianity is not a factor. The irony is that in teh US where there is a political separation of church and state (1st amendment to the Constitution) there are amazing amount of fundies. Wondering whether the increased Muslim influence in GB will cause a backlash resulting in increased British fundamenatlism. I hope not.

  4. Is religion making a comeback? It hasn't gone yet!

  5. Yep. Let's have ALL the religious organizations have appropriate representation in the HoL. Wait and see the knots that would be tied trying to work that out. We'd have druids, muslim, adventists, baptists, methodists. Hell, let's get scientologists in there too!

The quick conclusion would be that it is an issue that could never be resolved and hence will vanish in a puff of logic (sorry D. Adams).

  7. she's pretty hot though.lol - if people are receiving taxes, they shouldn't discriminate- if they want to discriminate do it from your own money. It is a very simple concept to grasp i don't understand why these people just don't get it.

This is the second time I´ve seen on this show that it is 2 against 1. The apologists for religion alwways have teh upper hand. It could at least be fair and be 2 against 2.

  10. I think it is funny how Europeans scoff at our fundamentalists here in the U.S.. Europe is so deep into the religious quagmire those people do not even realize that they are up to their necks in it. Monarchies, state supported churches, state supported religious schools, bishops in the House of Lords, state religions. Read the oath of citizenship for any european country and I think that you will find a person is basically joining a religion when they become a citizen (there might be exceptions, I have not reviewed all of them). The implicit religion in Europe is insidious and impedes europeans (and therwith the rest of the worlds) grasp on reality. They really need to excise religion from their world view. We would all be better off if they did.

I think Britain is going to pay an awful price for these state funded faith schools.
