  1. Life after death? They should have named this show "Interviews with the living dead."

  2. What sort of debate was that? One Atheist, and 5 believers? I think they would be better off getting a scientist on, rather than a talkshow host.

  3. I think the idea is to try to get people who are recognised by the general public. Having a scientist on there wouldn't be sympathetic to the audience. It's a pity no one mentioned that we are able to recreate NDE in laboratory environments. Dr Zeph comes off well there - I've loved him since I was a kid.

That seems to be the formula for the show, this is the 3rd video that follows a similar pattern.

For the closing comments I wish there had been a man with a dead pan expression on his face saying stuff like:" I expect to see 72 virgins or I know I´m going to reincarnated as a fruit fly, or I expect to be joining my beloved pet pot bellied pig in heaven.

  5. Dr Susan Blackmore would have sorted this lot out in no time. Amazing we have 'experts' who believe in the after-life, but only a talk show host when it comes to opposing the belief.

Blackmore has done plenty of research on so called 'after-life' experiences and would have had great fun destroying the so called 'arguments' of the guests.

Personal experience means little. I suppose this means alien abductions are also real because people genuinely believe they have experienced them?

No facts and evidence just subjective experiences. Hmm, well there you go, it and all other knds of nonsence must therefore be true.

If all you have is subjective experience and no hard facts - then all you really have is delusion.

  6. Can't bear this rubbish, the BBC is so protective of religion that it is not willing/able to establish the basis of a decent debate.

  7. Why isn't the question instead: "Is there life before birth?"

  8. This wouldn't hold up in any (except Sharia) court. Case closed.

  9. I don't know about you but the thought of living after my death, missing my kids, worrying about them, having no influence on how their lives go but still being aware fills me with sheer terror I do not want that. Also think it would be a bit tedious after the first couple of millenium..Where do we get these people this show could be so much better with fair representation for the thinking people.

  10. These people need to try some street drugs, you can get all sorts of interesting effects when you mess with your brain. It might help if these people spend some time helping at a home that cares for patients with dementia. Are those people going to be in heaven like they were just before they died or like when they were 2 years old? It's all in your imagination, that is why there are so many versions. How many versions of gravity exist to the average person? One, because it is real.

  11. Life after death is the most emotionally charged question in life. It is really the reason for all religions. Destroy the idea of life after death and you have destroyed most religions!

To be fair most of us fear death after death at some point in our live - or maybe the fear is taught, and therefore cultural.

I think most people fear that if you apply science to emotion, desire, and personal experience you will destroy their meaning and value to life!

Don't unweave our mythology for fear of a hollow center!

  12. Most people manage to have a NDE these days. What many need is a Near-Life Experience.

  15. Anyone speculating about life after death would be like a virgin speculating about sex. It is true that science can only tell us so much, but belief without reason or evidence is just an emotional affront trying to ensure a personal, eternal existence.

  16. What is it with this program and religion? Seems like every Sunday morning they talk about it.

  17. The BBC has to have what it deems as equal input hence the various religions input.

It sounds more and more ludicrous the more I hear this. We need to GROW UP and put these imaginary worlds and friends behind us.
