O rlly? Faith is the number one survival tool? I'm speechless. ok, let's say all those people on the surface just had faith that the miners would be saved. . . ummmmmmmmm what would have happened? They would have DIED. . . . Human ingenuity and gumption saved those people. Period. All praise should go to the rescuers. Huzzah!
I heard "some of the miners said they were struggling with the devil" being mentioned when I watch the Sky News live broadcast. "That's something mental health professionals would need to look into", immediately followed.
I think that helps explain why faith / religions survives despite logic / rationale.
No-one is denying that science / dedicated people actually saved the miners - although some would maybe argue god acted through them!
However, the video's main premise is that faith in a god helps people survive.
The premise is either true or false and can be evaluated as such. The question which follows is does this prove god is true, or that the idea of faith is what helps people, i.e. believing in something makes peoiple optimistic and increases their survival rate vs negative people.
So what game is Rupert Murdoch playing at? Is it just greed or does he think he is the devil? He surely doesn't believe the garbage his priests are putting out.
"the #1 survival tool in a crisis is faith in god"; Bullshit! I spent 8 years in the military and "faith" was never a subject in survival training. Don't they realize that 'god' buried them under ground in the first place.

ReplyDeleteIf "faith" was my most powerful survival tool, I don't think I'd ever risk leaving the house.
