I shudder to think what would happen if enough of people like here were to be elected.
From her reaction to the laughter at 2:57, I can only assume she's deluted enough to actually believe she scored a win with that remark, and have the audience laugh with her.
If you guys think shes dumb you should see the politics here in Brazilia, Brazil. Weslian Roriz should get the Nobel of bullshit.
Never mind the creationism, skip to 7:03 for true facepalm.
HOLY SHIT!!! she is something else.. she must be retarded or something
That is exactly what i was thinking- i was like why the hell is she laughing!! i was more shellshocked than anything though...
I used to think of the USA as an example...
horrifying. Yes the 1st amendment and the establishment clause!
If you think that's crazy, then you haven't seen the New york gov debate:http://utica-mohawkvalley.ynn.com/content/top_stories/520896/decision-2010---debate-for-governor/
I too thought that exact same thing!
lol, sarah palin 2.0
@AndrewDoes Evolution/ID/the Constitution come up in that debate? I listened to about 30 min, but didn't hear any crazy talk. I realize "The Rent is Too Damn High" party has a narrow platform, but IMO I didn't hear him say anything as stupid as that a district should have the right to teach the theory of evolution if they want to, along side the theory of intelligent design.
I'd say Palin 0.5 even. This is some totally retarded stuff, even "i could see Russia from my backyard, so i know foreign politics" type comments make more sense. But then again, O'Donnell not a witch, so that counts for a lot i recon. If this abomination wins, the US is lost forever.
I don't know what country you're from, but if it's America, you're fooling yourself. They're already in office. Lots and lots of them. They're crawling around congress plotting their christianist BS all the time. It's scary, but their stupidity tempers my fear. When you're as dumb as they are, well, you're probably so satisfied with your day's accomplishments after successfully tying your shoes in the morning, that you're not really getting much else done after that. They're full of hot air, but have little to show for it.Anyway, what's most amazing about this clip is not that she says she thinks there's no church/state separation in the constitution. Christian nutbags say that all the time. But they (badly) argue their point by saying that the line "congress shall make no law...." doesn't really mean what it obviously actually means. The difference here, is that this bimbo is so thick, she apparently doesn't even know the ACTUAL WORD CONTENT of the first amendment. The most famous and well known amendment of all, she has apparently never actually heard.
She really did think they were laughing with her rather than at her, but it doesn't matter. The fact that a bunch of smart liberal intellectuals laughed at her is a plus in her world. Her real audience think she won. Nobody in that auditoreum was going to vote for her anyway. Showing these people up for fools might be entertaining, but their core vote isn't thinking along ...well, thinking.
Feel sorry for Chris Coons.. He is being dragged into this freak show just because people like to see retarded jesus freaks in action...And Christine... I believe she knows perfectly well what she is doing, that she is saying all this BS... She just wants to copy Sarah Palin and than even if she gets 50 times less money and attention out of this, that is - if 100.000 radical jesus freaks see something in her, she will be rich... And all this attention she gets from liberal media..This is perfect for her wallet, even though you think otherwise.. Remember that there are some 50M fundamentalists in US and that in truth she has no political ambitions. She just wants attention and money.
Are you sure she really knows what she's doing? Is there any circumstance where you have to look around and check with the audience what is in the first sentence of the first amendment of the USC?I must say, there's at least some consistency to the anti-intellectualism. Even when the USC is central to her campaign, she doesn't stoop to actually reading it properly.A proper Libertarian would know the constitution back to front.
I cant see how she would not know..The whole world is laughing at her, and she doesnt seem to mind. She is not even careful with her words. What she has learn from this is that she even has to make stupid and contraversial remarks, because they bring attention. And also, she knows perfectly well that no matter what she says or does, she will never bring rational/normal people to her side, so she doesnt give a damn about us... Really no harm is done by her stupidity.. No harm done on one side, but she gets supporters on the other side. She has only one target group in her mind - Fundamentalist jesus freaks. Those are her fortune cookie.. And those people see in her someone who is defending jesus, which is all they really care about in life...Defend jesus and you will become a celebrity - rich celebrity that is... Rational people and liberals can go fuck themselves.
"Government shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion.""And that's in the Constitution?"Dolt.
As a Brit, I am amazed that a person is standing for election who knows less about the American constitution then I - and I know very little. However even I, and I suspect most educated Brits, know what the 1st amendment is. After all it was the behaviour of the Anglican (English) Church that played a part in showing the need for such an amendment.
Good luck America!!
That's a good point. The kind of stupid remarks she makes have to be a little carefully crafted. They have to be scandalous to most people, while playing into the hands of her target "fortune cookies" as you say.The great thing about asking if the separation of church and state is in the Constitution is that there are plenty of places on the internet where this principle will be challenged. So she looks ignorant to normal people but makes a quasi-rhetorical question to the nuts....
yeah or something
Did you miss the part where the <span>"The Rent is Too Damn High" candidate talks about how he's a karate expert and expresses his love of decaffinated coffee before advocating for human / shoe marriage?</span>
Here's the party's website:http://www.rentistoodamnhigh.org/
WTF? How can anyone by running for office when they don't know what's in the freaking constitution?? Apparently anyone can go up there. My dog apparently can be the next republican candidate. He is just what they are looking for! When the republican party has irrational ideals the only kind of people they can get is irrational people.
wow...is she really a member of American parliament or whatever the governing house of America??
