Pope Arrives in Britain Warning of 'Aggressive Secularism' - Links Nazi Tyranny to Atheism

From Pope's Holyroodhouse Speech Transcript:
Even in our own lifetime, we can recall how Britain and her leaders stood against a Nazi tyranny that wished to eradicate God from society and denied our common humanity to many, especially the Jews, who were thought unfit to live. I also recall the regime’s attitude to Christian pastors and religious who spoke the truth in love, opposed the Nazis and paid for that opposition with their lives. As we reflect on the sobering lessons of the atheist extremism of the twentieth century, let us never forget how the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leads ultimately to a truncated vision of man and of society and thus to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny”

I'd love to debate with this narrowminded dimwit.

  2. We should really make it so that godwin's law gets recognition beyond the internet. If you compare anyone to Hitler, you've lost the argument, no matter what it was.
Pope palpatine has invoked Godwin's law, so we can all ignore his babbling, and get on with more important stuff, like having a nice cup of tea.

  5. Like, Jew says we are parasites and our blood should be spilled; The pope says we are Nazi.

I think they are scared, they know they are loosing the grip on the sheep.

  6. Everyone knows the nazi's were a bunch of batshit crazy occultists.

  7. Unfortunately, the down side is that then Neo Nazis might actually win a few arguments.

  8. So, if we're just like the Nazis, then shouldn't the Vatican turn a blind eye to what we're doing?

  10. <span>Trying to figure out if this is Hypocricy, Denial, Ignorance or simply attempted Deceit.  In view of RCC's well' known cozy arrangements with the Nazi regime and their undeniable historical contributions to anti-Semitism, I find it incredulous that he wouldn't try to avoid these topics at all costs, let alone include them in an address heard 'round the world. </span>

<span>PS. I wonder what thousands of sexually-abused youngsters and 9/11 victims would feel about "the exclusion of God, religion and virtue from public life leading ultimately to a “reductive vision of the person and his destiny”

  11. So what about Dawkins and Hitchens plans to arrest this criminal PoS? Hes arrived in Britian, why is he not in cuffs?

  12. I'd advize you to take this guy's words seriously. I mean, if there's anyone who knows a thing or two about Nazis, it's that dude.

  13. <p><span>Guess who said, At the Bürgerbräukeller on April 12, 1922: "My feelings as a Christian points me to my Lord and Savior as a fighter. It points me to the man who once in loneliness, surrounded only by a few followers, recognized these Jews for what they were and summoned men to fight against them and who, God's truth! was greatest not as a sufferer but as a fighter. .. How terrific was His fight for the world against the Jewish poison."</span>

</p><p><span>I would very much like to start my own sovereign nation here in the US.  </span>
    </p><p><span> </span>
</p><p><span>I'm going to produce nothing, and I'm not really going to have any citizens that don't work for me. But I will organize a complicated worldwide hierarchy of services that produce nothing, but will funnel wealth back to me while also conveniently absorbing all moral and financial responsibilities. I mean, how could I be blamed for anything--after all, I'm literally doing absolutely nothing!  </span>
    </p><p><span> </span>
</p><p><span>Without a market of my own, I'll keep my economy propped up by investing huge amounts of money in foreign markets. So in other words, I'll be a state with hardly any citizens, no internal economy, no production, and no vested responsibility for anything that I'm involved in.  </span>
    </p><p><span> </span>
</p><p><span>Now, you may wonder why I should be considered a sovereign nation and not, say, a multinational financial organization subject to applicable law and taxation. Well... erm... hm...</span>

  15. Unfortunatly I'd have to agree with Andrew, I'v seen a growing number of people describe themself as social darwinist. Talking about how we need to prevent the poor or handicapped from receiving healthcare, to end the moral corruption comming from universities. All this in the mix of quotes like this:

    "Hitler should have kept going,"
    "Hitler had the right idea,"
"its the jews who control all the money."

I don't think it's that far fetched to call these people nazis. You should call a spade a spade and call a nazi a nazi.

P.S. Ironicly most of the people I'm talking about above are catholic.

  17. Empty brain dead self absorbed people doing absolutely nothing of value but, harm they do, very efficiently. Hitler's number one partner in WWII, Mussolini, is responsible for the vatican assuming its current state. Clever work by the catholics, as the whole dodgy charade has a veneer of credibility it doesn't deserve.

  18. I was actually making a joke, but since you brought that up, I'm a social darwinist, but not a Neo Nazi.  I'm not going to go out of my way to hurt anyone because I percieve them to be weaker, but I'm not going to help people out of guilt either.  Let people take care of themselves and natural selection will do the dirty work for you.

  19. "my own greetings to all the people of the United Kingdom and hold out a hand of greeting to each one" ... (but not agnostics, atheists, humanists and freethinkers)!!!

The message he keeps repeating in GB is to fight the Rise of Secularism and that the faiths should act together against the Rise of Secularism.  Yes, that's right, all the crazies consider our threat so important that they are proposing to put aside centuries of hatred to act against Reason.  Mmmm, do anything to try to stop people from thinking for themselves, eh?

Who would have thought that "lil ol' me" was such a danger to the world!

  20. The cynical tactic I missed here is diversion, and despite being very obvious, I missed it. Feel kinda foolish.

  23. Actually, come to think of it, social darwinist isn't really an appropriate description of your philosophy as delineated here.

Darwin was aware of the sly uses to which his theory could be put and was quite specific about it.

Nor could we check our sympathy, even at the urging of hard reason, without deterioration in the noblest part of our nature.

You either pitch in and help out when you can or you don't. Guilt has nothing to do with it. Not wanting to help out is your choice, but it isn't really a philosophy and has bugger all to do with Darwin.
