Magic or Medicine - Homeopathy and the NHS - BBC

Aired September 13, 2010 on BBC One
Samantha Poling investigates how homeopathy has penetrated the heart of the NHS and asks whether prescribing homeopathic preparations for serious conditions could be dangerous for patients.

The investigation looks at the history and preparation of homeopathic remedies and the extent of their use in Scotland and England. Advocates of homeopathy, including patients and a former GP who overcame her scepticism and became an enthusiastic practitioner, report stories of dramatic recovery in some cases.

Glasgow still has a fully fledged homeopathic hospital while in English towns and cities, with the exception of London, such hospitals have been downgraded or closed. Powerful voices, including the British Medical Association, question the level of funding within the NHS for homeopathy and call for more evidence based research to back up the claims of homeopathic practitioners.

Dreadful prospect that we may need corpses, even children corpses to bring about change and stop this nonsense.

Faith schools and homeopthy, Britain is turning into La La land without the great weather and fake body parts.

  3. I read that the Glasgow Homeopathic Hospital is funded at the level of 1.5 million pounds per year.  Consistent with the principles of homeopathy, I propose that this funding be administered at a 5X level of dilution, i.e. 15 pounds per year.

I wish I was as optimistic as you, I don't think that even the death of children will change there minds

  5. Brilliant idea, except we should follow the true homeopathic guidelines. Most advocate a 30C dilution or 1.5e-54 pounds per year.

  6. Indeed. It would probably be re-interpreted as a big-pharma, bilderberg, reverse-vampire conspiracy against the meek (multi-million pound) homeopathy industry.
