Drunk on religion

  1. Pat has hit on something that I have been thinking about lately. Why do I feel sorry for those people knocking on my door? Afterall, they're bothering ME. I find that these people are usually very meek (who else could be bullied in to going door to door on the weekend?) and I do look at them as victims of abuse. Btw, I test this by offering them a copy of The God Delusion, most stumble during their refusal and give a shy smile (the meek) others snarl or snap (probably not meek so deserving of both barrels of my derision). I used to yell at these people, but now I tell the meek ones that I feel sorry for their addiction and hope they can get counseling to break away...usually they are (as in Pat's scenario, heading down the street at this point).

LOL :D I´ve had them ringing on my intercom with all their fear & worry.
"I would like to speak to you about the state of the world. Isn´t the  world becoming such a hostile place"? I replied: Not at all, I´m so happy and joyful. I love life and there is nothing to worry about". I was never bothered again. O:-)

    They are selling fear afterall.

And if that fails I´ll have to invite them in and then put on a hardcore barebacking DVD. Oh wait bad idea, they´ll probably want to stay and STARE! :-[

  3. I have to confess to having spent far too much time in learning to pronounce "Ph'nglui mglw'nafh Cthulhu R'lyeh wgah'nagl fhtagn", with a sense of real conviction. And there have been few opportunities to use it. But those few have been worth it.
