4. As much as I dislike Deepak Chopra, I see his attempt to cash in on a new age islamic movement as good in the same way that the Protestant split was good. Sure it was jsut trading one lie for another, but diversity of views within a religion makes it easier for secular people to live within the gaps.

  5. Not sure the people of Northern Ireland would agree that Protestant/Catholic split was a good thing. Chopra is brave ... but as always ... foolish.

  6. Deepak said "To live in denial is the worst thing you can do"

The interviewer referred to him as a 'non-believer'

I think my irony meter exploded.

  7. Uhhm, let's NOT hope that happens. Despite how indescribably delicious the schadenfreude would unquestionably be, no one deserves to have their life threatened because of a work of fiction. NO ONE! Not even slimy, disingenuous, craven, fatuous, weasely, contemptible, woo-mongering, arrogant, phony, drivel-spewing, obscurantist, anti-science idiots like Deepak Chopra. NO ONE. EVER.

  10. We don't need another fictional biography of the prophet Muhammad. We've already got the Koran. What would be nice would be a nonfictional one.

  16.
What a shattering and meaningful moral insight! What passion!! I, for one, feel properly, justifiably and embarrassingly reprimanded for totally agreeing with Guyinsfca by erroneously, bloodthirstingly, wanting this man to be tracked down in a fatwa and murdered. I would have totally missed your insightful, highly sophisticated ethical point, too, had it not been for your passionate Bold-Faced bit!

And gosh, what approval from the admiring chorus!

I particularly admire your wise humility in recognizing this lesser “slimy, disingenuous, craven, fatuous, weasely, contemptible, woo-mongering, arrogant, phony, drivel-spewing, obscurantist, anti-science idiot,” and your deep, principled insight in standing up for his right to life, despite his egregious shortcomings.

I’m ashamed of myself.
