1. I really hope the courts keep telling him he's not allowed to do so. I can totally understand the city's standpoint that the electric lighting would distract drivers...but no, the religutarded just keep chugging along despite being told that.

3. God healed his drug addiction, God will put that sign in place.
Sure, there will be some auto accidents. Possibly, some of them deadly. But, if you must choose a sign from god and few accidental deaths - the choice is clear.

May god bless us all.

4. Is god responsible for making him prone for geting addicted

5. What a selfish deluded ass... what? doesn't he look at the luxury of where he lives and instead give his money to those that can't even afford food let alone addicting Rx drugs. I can't even call myself an atheist anymore. All the crap hitting the media these days makes anti-theist a better label. Kinda like you look around and you see a plague of stupidity afflicting this country.

6. I like how the news piece begins framed as a religious issue but it just turns out to be a mundane town planning issue.

7. Hey I kicked Oxycontin too. Ten years ago now. Over a 72 hour detox, when i could not eat or sleep, a group of caring strangers on an IRC channel stayed online with me and talked me through it. No God required.

8. I feel sad for you people that say "No God Required".....makes my heart heavy that you all think our Lord and Christ has nothing to do with the healign of your (our) broken bodies. You are all in my prayers!!

9. Really Luis!!! U don't think the guy makes his own choices? You wanna blame someone (God) for making him "prone to addiction". Really???? I'm a christian but last I checked I still have free will and God allows me to be an adult and make my own decisions. Go ahead and blame God for it....when reality clearly proves that we all make our own decisions. Just some of us would rather have God there for us when we make those decisions.

11. It's people like yourself that are "afflicting this country". Stop being so scared that a few people's belief in Christ Jesus is going to affect you terribly or something. I don't sit around and worry about the idiotic things that so called "Atheist" spew out of their mouths so you should try doing the same. If it doesn't affect you then you shouldn't really worry yourself with it. If you don't believe in what the sign represents then why would you care? If there was a billboard promoting a drug...like Viagra and you didn't need it then you would just ignore it right? Are you worried that someone might actually appreciate the encouraging words from the sign. It doesn't affect you so I'm just curious as to why you care so much?

12. family5, I pray for you that Thor will make you wise and stop worshiping false gods, Thor has said he won't have any of it. And as you know, Thor has a badass hammer.

13. U r too funny, Valhall. Next time you talk to him tell him I'm here...waiting for his bad*$# Hammer. LOL It makes me laugh that you waste your time telling me God is false. I suppose you believe you came from a monkey too right? Hilarious!!!! I'd hate to think I would go through life not believing in my creator. sad sad sad....Enjoy your weekend Valhall.

14. I see bright signs all the time on the road. What other atheists besides me think this guy should be able to put up his sign on his property?

I mean, if the sign is dangerous, by all means he shouldn't put it up. But if it like the signs I see like this ALL THE TIME at places like construction zones, nothing bad will happen.

15. After doing no further research on this town, or it's laws, the news story actually makes it pretty clear that what the guy wants to do is against the law because of a local ordinance banning the use of electronic lettering, and thus, this is not a religious issue.

I say he should go to court.... can't hurt... there's no reason that laws can't be changed. That being said, I think it is unfortunate (not to mention irresponsible) that this is being framed as a religious issue, and that people who are probably a lot like family5 are then able too use this seeming persecution as ammunition against non-believers, or other religions, etc. Tsk tsk, Fox News. Tsk tsk, predominantly ignorant society...

16. I was distracted by his daughter in the pink, think I can ask him if I may "be fruitful and multiply" with her?

17. He had as much to do with the healing of those bodies as he did in destroying them.

Pick and choose all you want.

18. he wants to give god credit for helping him get off pills, but he doesn't want to give god credit for allowing him to get on them in the first place? was god hitting the snooze button when dude was getting hooked? it wasn't his "choice" to get off the pills? god did it for him?? could you please give up your 5 for secular adoption and spare them the brainwash and stupidity?

19. because religion is poison and a mental plague that is handed down to children before they have the capacity to seperate value from bullshit. please don't pretend that people committing atrocities IN THE NAME OF THEIR FLAVOR OF RELIGION have not effected a massively negative impact to the health and happiness of civilizations THROUGHOUT TIME.

20. ha ha how ridiculous, right, family5? thor??? how stupid! he throws lightning? what a joke.

anyway.... just thought you should know that evolutionary biology has never claimed that we "came from monkeys". please read a fucking book. we share a relatively recent "common ancestor" with monkeys. and a relatively less recent "common ancestor" with great white sharks. please bury yourself in a deep hole so your stupidity can not spread to your kids or anyone else.

21. I'm sorry you are so ignorant. You poor soul.....your parents must've MADE you go to church "before you had the capacity to separate value from b-s". When you grew up were you never "big enough" to then make your own decision or did you have mommy and daddy make them for you as an adult too? Grow up and maybe have children or something....then when you actually witness a live birth there is NO way you would be able to say there is no God....or higher power....or whatever you want to call it!! Have a nice life.....

22. OMG I know the story of Thor....I was simply mocking your "bad ass hammer" remark! I'm sorry that you were forced into religion....probably not a fun way to grow up.

23. Sorry Brandon I've never worshiped a God that destroys. I've also never worshiped a God that didn't allow free will....I make my own decisions and choose my own path. Of course I believe God has a purpose and a reason for my life but I ultimately make my own decisions and have "free-will" to go a different direction if I so desire. I just believe religion is a choice, at least it is for me.

I too am a recovering opiate addict. God didn't shove those pills down my throat or needles in my arms....but once I was in a place of pure hell and of no return you better believe the first thing I said was .....Oh God help me get through this awful time in my life. I choose to take the drugs and like an idiot one day I woke up and realized I had taken it too far and became addicted. All I'm saying is that (for me) without prayer and a belief in a Higher Power...there is no way I could've made it out of that hellish time in my life. Never once did I blame God for letting me get to that point because I made a conscious decision to take every single one of the drugs I took.

24. Seriously Srewy.cvl no ammunition against non-believers from me, the last thing I wanna do is force my ways of contentment or inner peace on someone else ! I just thought there was no reason to make this an issue (a religious issue) when it's a stupid sign. I guess people just gotta have something to bitch about. I agree with you it is unfortunate that it is being framed as a religious issue.....it's a dang sign. There are all kinds of signs all over the roads/freeways/intersections/stop lights....etc....etc...why waste our time on making it the issue we have made it?
