The faith of idiots

Angry, aggressive, abusive, outspoken, offensive, defiant, inconsiderate, intolerant, insulting, unforgiving, confrontational, condescending, vicious, vitriolic, malicious and an eminently reasonable, rational and realistic response.
In short, exactly what is called for.
I fantasize about rehearsing this, and using it to attack a religious nutbag I goad into trying to proselytize to me.

2. john, here's an easier to remember response to aggreesive pious nutbags: "Tell me more about your god. Did he turn you into an asshole or were you always an asshole?"

I got to use that on a god-botherer in a grocery parking lot on a Sunday morning.

3. While your response is certainly retributive, Dave, I envy the verbal dexterity and cohesion to have such an extended and effective diatribe as Condell's instantly on call when you need it and when you want to use it.
Take Martin's response (above). I suppose I could manage to rehearse and remember THAT, but what would be the point?

4. While I agree your response is certainly retributive, Dave, I do admire and envy the verbal dexterity of cohesion of some people to have such an affective and devastating response on call whenever they want to feel the pure enjoyment of using it.
I could, with some effort, probably rehearse and deliver Martin's (above) response, but what would be the point?

7. I'm not the one fantasizing about insulting theists so you tell me. What would be the point?

8. From a philosophic point of view, faith is incorrect; from a psychological point of view, faith is a psychopathology; and from a moral point of view, faith is a vice.

9. I bet you're not.
I bet you can't.
It's fun (and deserving)

10. From a logical point of view, it is ill.

11. The version I've always seen is even dumber:

God said it, that settles it, whether you believe it or not.

12. You do know that stupid people don't realise they're stupid. They just think they're right and no amount of facts or foul behaviour will change them - it just makes them MORE ardent - your actions are counter productive. Mimicking their behaviour just means you end up with a room full of stupid people. Sure they're annoying but don't forget to reserve judgement, attempt to take a higher moral ground and try not to be dragged down to their level. You'll never beat a stupid person at being stupid. They will drag you down to their way of thinking and demonstrate it to you with devastating precision. The good thing to do is a) ignore them b) politely and with well researched facts, point out why you believe them to be wrong. If they still don't come round smash their face in with a rake. (in your mind of course) - :P

14. If someone told me, "God said it, i believe it, and that settles it!", my reply would be, "How do you know God said it?". Of course, then the fundie would start jumping throught the hoops of circular reasoning.
