I love how people mix their politics and religion together - claiming that God thinks like they do on matters of politics. I wonder if C.S. Lewis put a part in his screwtape letters where demons create demagogues that lead Christians into wars and fight against healthcare, perhaps under the guise of "taxes enough already". It's a great way to expand the deathtoll on humanity, and the "demons suckered the Christians into doing it" just like he "suckered the Christians into burning their fellow Christians as witches". Oh right - the "deception of the devil" only gets applied to things they want to hate - like social justice and Obama.
OH NOES! an imaginary man is under attack!?!?a supposedly all powerful being is under attack and cant defend itself!OH NOES! maybe the flying spaghetti monster will help? ;)
She misread that paragraph. Yes, paragraph. She mistook a paragraph for a whole chapter. That aside, the letter itself isn't warning about social justice. The warning is about using faith as a means to an ends, as opposed to seeing faith as the ends. If she'd continued past the last mention of Beck's buzz-word "Social Justice" she'd have read:
"For the Enemy (god) will not be used as a convenience. Men or nations who think they can revive the Faith in order to make a good society might as well think they can use the stairs of Heaven as a short cut to the nearest chemist's shop."
Relax religoons, if the god in question (presumably Yahweh, in this instance) is as onmiscient and omnipotent you usually claim then a) he knows all about this attack having arranged it himself and b) needs no help in dealing with it.
Beck is a tool. Every time this guy opens is pie hole, he never fails to make me laugh. He does nothing but spew BS over the television and radio waves.
Are these people actually referring to the organizational structure of demonds? I swear I heard "senior demond" mentioned. I'd like to make sure the next time I hear voices it isn't some insignificant subordinate looser who's leading me astray.
Tahnkfully I'm free to hate 'scoial justice' AND God. Although, it's kind of hard to hate them, since they're both imaginary terms that don't actualyl represent anything real. Maybe I'll just pity their followers instead.
"It is the oldest battle of mankind."
ReplyDeleteIt sure is. The battle of reason and logic vs. fairy tales and superstition. That battle will never end.
