Belgian Police Raid Catholic Church HQ in Sex Abuse Probe

Belgian authorities have raided the headquarters of the Belgian Catholic Church during an investigation into child sex abuse claims.

A spokesman for the Brussels prosecutors' office confirmed that the palace of the archbishop of Mechelen-Brussels had been sealed off.

Police also raided the home of retired Archbishop Godfried Danneels.

  1. It's ridiculous how many priests are doing this, and how they are not charged like anyone else would do who was caught molesting a child.

  2. If the civil authorities had any backbone this would be the first of many raids taking place around the world. It would happen to any other corrupt organisation, so why not the Catholic church, or indeed any other type of church?
