Pope: Church's Own Sins to Blame in Sex Scandal

May 11, 2010 on AP:

The pope should accept his own resignation.

  3. This may be a start but it needs to end up with civil trials and possible jail time for sexual molestation of children and its organized coverup by the officials of the church. Not just a few dismissals. Only then will they show thay are serious about the crimes the church has committed against the most helpless in society - our children.

  6. The church is being persecuted from within? Thats supose to be the "step in the right direction"? A step in the right direction would be aresting all thouse who abused and were complisent in abuse. A simple sorry doesnt cut it.

  7. So he accepted the resignatins of a a few priests who admit to molesting or protecting those who molested children... has he turned them over to the local authorities? Nothing but PR spin and bold faced lies.
