Inside Story - Suing the Pope

April 17, 2010 on Al-Jazeera English
A British academic is planning to take Pope Benedict XVI to court for what he calls the long-term, systematic cover-up of child sexual abuse cases inside the Catholic Church. Inside Story asks what long-term implications the scandal could have for the Church?

    Thanks for this 'eahds-up'
The reporter did a remarkable job of reigning in the 2  Catholic Liars, who's only job was to dissemble and distract, in order to protect their precious life of unearned privilege.

    Of course: "heads-up".
I should remember to look at the screen whilst typing, but that video has me so outraged at the sheer hutzpa of these delusional bastards.
And that it took an Arabic TV station to do it!
I can understand that Dawkins', Hitchens' et alia might bear the burden of persuing the RCC for their clear crimes against humanity, but fail to understand why there appear to be no Catholics with enough back-bone to stand up and shout "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!!"
Perhaps there are zero Catholics with back-bone.
Perhaps that is exactly why they are Catholics in the first place: No drive to think for themselves. Lazy, in a nutshell.

  3. Suing the pope for condoning paedophilia is one thing, however you would be on much surer ground getting a genocide conviction if he was arrested for preaching the non-use of condoms in southern Africa, where this advice to Catholics has led to hundreds of thousands of deaths.

The church refuses to be held accountable for anything.

This was a reasonable interview and Greg Watts didn´t really get away with smearing homosexuals.

I agree Tony, I also think that the Vatican´s anti-condom propaganda is tantamount to genocide and they should be tried and convicted for it.

What you don't seem to be taking into account is that the Catholics with real back-bone simply stop being Catholic altogether.  What you're looking for is someone with enough backbone to say the pope has engaged in criminal activity for which he must be held accountable, but enough LACK of backbone that they'll still say "I'm still a Catholic".  That's a very narrow window between those two.
Don't believe the Vatican's numbers when they claim to have 1.1 billion members.  Remember that they're counting everyone who was ever baptized by Catholics as a Catholic regardless of whatever they happened to say later in life when they weren't babies anymore and were old enough to understand these strange sounds coming out of the big people's mouths.
There are plenty of Catholics who got fed up with this crap - but in so doing they stopped being Catholics.  (Even thought the lying church still counts them.)

  7. Also, I would be surprised if anyone would come up with the gay-connection if there was such a thing as "altar girls". Ironic how the churches prejudice against women hands them this "card".
