Play all videos (5)
Aired March 1, 2010 on Channel 4
Journalist Andrew Gilligan investigates how a fundamentalist Muslim group - the Islamic Forum of Europe - has infiltrated the British political system. Based at the East London Mosque in Whitechapel, the IFE has received millions of pounds of public money and has been visited by government ministers and royalty. Despite claiming to support tolerance and community spirit, Gilligan reveals it also hosts extremist speakers and stocks radical books.

2. Why is it that some religious people think that they get new friends by posting that kind of nonsense on other peoples/groups blogs and forums?

4. I'm surprised it has come to this point in europe. You hear and read about it but it's clearly a lot worse then most think. Muslims are clearly trying to take over, contaminating and imposing their outdate idiologies in our civilized society. Got give the americans credit when it comes to this because they would NEVER allow such thing to happen in their country. As soon as muslims would try organize themselves and pull something like this, the americans would stop them on their tracks and crush them like the vermin they are. They learned their lesson (the hard way) already. They have seem first handed what these monsters can do and they wont stand by it and just watch it all unfold again.

Muslims don't deserve our respect... these animals just want to see the world burn.

Sick, it´s very sick. To spend millions of tax payers money on those bigots.

The powers that be have made a mockery out of British democracy and it´s secular values.

6. LONDONERS CAN BE PROUD of the London Muslim Centre.
Last night over 3,000 children (from all over London) came to the BIG READ world record event and managed to set the new world. Dubai was the previous world record holder with around 2500 children. Children sat around reading the famous Rold Dahl’s Charile and the Chocolate factory (which every child got free).
Shows that Muslim and non-Muslim parents were not deterred by the negative islamophobic propaganda that Gilligan ranted in his Dispatches documentary!
AGAIN WOHOOOO… Londoners did it!!

7. Those who have seen a documentary by Andrew Gilligan's Britain's Islamic Republic may have been wondering what made him spend days if not weeks
Using undercover recordings, to reveal that an unknow radio host
on an even less known radio show subscribes to the Islamic Forum Europe (IFE) – a mainly Bengali Muslim organisation headquartered in Whitechapel, East London.

Why should Gilligan invest times and efforts on such a small fry not known to more than a few dozen people? Is this an effort to distract the audience
from the much larger, far pressing issues worth attention of any genuine
investigation journalist as he likes to call himself?
One is reminded of Chris Hedges, author of The End of Literacy and the Triumph of Spectacle, who speaks of people who wish to see truth be drowned in a sea of irrelevance so that:
“The purpose and goals of the corporation are never questioned. To question them, to engage in criticism of the goals of the collective, is to be obstructive and negative. … If we are not happy, there is something wrong with us. Debate and criticism, especially about the goals and structure of the corporation, are condemned as negative and ‘counterproductive.’”
