1. That women at the end is the best. She is saying that the Ryan Sorba douchebag has the freedom to express his opinion that homosexuals should not be allowed to express their opinion at the conference. And she did it with a straight face! Haha! Love it.

I'm glad there was so much booing, disappointed that there was some clapping. But overall it looks like this kind of bigotry is becoming more and more fringe.

  2. I thought civil rights are grounded in civilization, as in, a cooperative group of individuals.

    What is "natural rights", anyway?

  3. i wonder if he thinks the rights of the couples who can not have children or reproduce should have their rights taken away too!?

  4. Good question. That's a term invented to confuse the issue, and that bleating schmuck tried to appeal to some natural way of human reproduction as his justification for those mystical rights - or laws. All he exposed was his own limited understanding. What imposes the limits?

"That we were slaves I had known all my life— and nothing could be done about it. True, we weren't bought and sold— but as long as Authority held monopoly over what we had to have and what we could sell to buy it, we were slaves." - 'The Moon Is A Harsh Mistress', R.A.H.

It is very heartening to hear open scorn for this man.

That woman had all the rights to express her opinion about the rights of that douche bag Ryan Sorba, who very powerfully used his rights to express his opinions about the gay’s issue. The audience exercised its rights to express its opinion and they’ve done it by booing Ryan Sorba and his opinion. Those who clapped – have their rights to express their opinion fulfilled as well.

Also, you shep, you have the rights to express your opinion about the whole incident and therefore you have exercised your rights in full.

If that is NOT a democracy in full swing – then I don’t know what a democracy is ?

  8. I'll bite.

One of those things you cited is not like the other. (Hint: Ryan Sorba is the only one trying to silence other people.)

The woman, I believe, intended to defend Sorba from the audience, not the gay group from Sorba. But her argument, that everyone has a right to their opinion, contradicts what Sorba had just said. Maybe you didn't catch that. I don't think she realized this irony either, and it amuses me greatly.

Speech at a private convention or in the comments of a blog is not necessary for democracy. In neither situation is the government involved in allowing or disallowing speech, so it is not an issue of rights or freedom of speech. Thus, it has nothing whatsoever to do with democracy.

Yes, of course I am disappointed to see people openly agree with Sorba. His rambling incoherent argument that homosexuality is unnatural and therefore gays shouldn't be allowed to speak is more appropriate for a homeless drug addict with cardboard signs about the 9/11 coverup the than an invited speaker at a convention.

As to "what kind of bigotry" try using context clues to figure it out. If that doesn't help, I'll refer you to the dictionary. While you're at it, look up democracy too.

I'll fight against that douche bag Ryan Sorba's opinion to death.
Also: I'll fight to death to protect his rights to express that opinion.

    That bigotry stuff...?
I still don't get it. Who's bigotry you are talking about ?
One of us must be a hair away from baboon - obviously. :)

  10. You'd die for someone who wants to deny other people the right to speak? How noble of you. But who do you imagine is going to kill you over it? I haven't argued against his right to speak, nor seen anyone else do so.

In this clip, Sorba is the only bigot, "a person who is utterly intolerant of any differing creed, belief, or opinion." He thinks it is worthy of condemnation to allow homosexuals to speak and to advocate for equal rights. He is the self-proclaimed enemy of a group of millions of people because of their sexual orientation, and millions more straight people because they think gay people should have equal rights. I think that qualifies as being "utterly intolerant".

The audience are not bigots, they merely booed to express their disagreement with his statement or with the fact that he was making divisive remarks which disrupt the purpose of the event (to strengthen the conservative movement). The woman was not a bigot, she merely tried to get the crowd to calm down.

  11. The logical purpose of eating is to provide your body with energy.
By eating celery, your body uses more calories to digest than it gains.
By this mans logic of "natural rules", is celery immoral?
