Stephen Baldwin vs. Richard Dawkins: Why Are There Still Chimpanzees?

Stephen Baldwin recently posed an interesting point against Evolution on Celebrity Big Brother UK 2010. So what would Richard Dawkins say in defence of Evolution? Lets find out.

  1. Sadly, the score of 1 - 0 to Richard dawkins doesn't matter!

People often believe what they see on TV and will never see the response!

  2. The probelm with people who are against evolution is that they think they know what they are talking about when they clearly don't.

  3. Damn, Baldwin missed the biggest point of all - in some respects, the apes didn't go anywhere, and we are them. If Baldwin had made the even dumber claim that Dawkins answered, the mash-up would have been more apt. But it is clearly what Simple Stephen was grasping at, clumsy and anscetor-like. Poor little guy just didn't have the memes.

Don't let this happen to your children!

Good points above. The answer of common ancestors is so easy to understand once you look at a family tree. I'd bet Baldwin has looked at his own family tree more than once. He's hanging onto a one-track form of evolution which clearly has no concept of "species" in it.

Doesn't Big Brother have a talk-back scheme from the audience? (No TV! Can ya tell?)

Where was that clip of Ricky'D taken from? I'm guessing he didn't record the response especially. I'd like to watch the whole thing if anyone knows where it can be found?

  7. And this is why evolution needs to be much more thoroughly taught in school.

  8. The thing I really hate about arguments like this, is that the people using them really think they are on to something science missed.

  9. Oh, Stephen Baldwin. The guy who would rather his daughter die than deny christ.

  10. Simple rebuttal when time constraints are present: "Americans are largely descended from English immigrants, so why are there still English?" Makes the preposterous nature pf the question quite clear.

  11. wow!

I wonder if the Big brother producers know how easily that kind of stupid could burn through the perimeter fence! I'm not inclined to ever watch this kind of show but I hope that he has been seriously ridiculed for this kind of nonsense.

  13. Worst thing is. People watching will go "Yeah... Why is that?". This is people talking horse-shit without address from people talking sense. Why else did serial killer act-alike Baldwin get on the show I wonder.

  14. No that's not what I mean.....how can anyone beleive the garbage of the guy AFTER Baldwin. This is inane. C'mon, people....THINK.

  15. hello "guest" ..umm maybe because there is a huge deal of scientific empirical evidence in support of it that only an ignorant religious nut-head like baldwin could reject.

Maybe you should go and educate yourself in the field of biological evolution before living ingnorant comments and then maybe you'll understand why the thoery is so universally accepted amongst the scientific and achademic community.

  16. If we followed his thought that species develop and REPLACE previous stages of development then you'd only have one type of any animal! One type of butterfly etc. Humans share a common ancestor with apes. My main point is that Balwin's a fucking cunt.

  17. Why have channel 4 blocked this video in the uk????????

  18. Just because Steven Baldwin's case againt evolution is faulty, that doesn't guarentee evolution to be true. I believe that Steven is correct, but he just hasn't done his working out properly. The same book (the bible) that proves Jesus' resurrection as an historical fact, also states that we were created by God, not by evolution. That'll do for me.

  19. What is absurd about point blank denying this thing upon which you base your life?

if he is a fucking cunt - he has to apply for the unemplyment welfare because I can't even imagine who on earth would like to fuck that uneducated creotard?
He's simply a younger brother of an actor and (sometimes) there is nothing wrong with being a brother of an actor.

  22.
Ben's NOT crazy. He is a simple man who loves God and he's a Christian. An education and knowledge about the world would simply do him an irreparable harm. It is a human law to protect themselves against any harm caused by the modern science ( biology, geophysics, cosmology, medicine, etc).
