Is this a filming of a radio program? Obviously both know that they're directly in front of a camera and Wright tilts off camera and is constantly drinking from that mug while looking in every direction except forward. It just gives off the impression that he's completely disinterested in Hitchens actual replies and is merely going through the motions until he can get the next chance to 'nail' Hitch. Which he utterly fails to do over and over and over. I especially like how he 'doesn't get' Hitch's point that YES religion posions everything and it makes no difference that YES... other things can also poison or be harmful. Hitch's only point is that Religion is one of those posions. It's the typical ploy to make people believe that because you can be a bad person if you're secular that it somehow proves being religious is A-OK.
Why does Wright insist we need to develop "water-tight" moral framework? He doesn't support this notion while simultaneously suggesting it needs to be done. The whole line of thinking is an attempt to reduce humanism and other secular sources of morality to the same level of dogmatic religious morality. While he is at it, he might as well dismiss scientific knowledge because it isn't perfectly accurate and only an estimation of truth and the ponderings of our pre-agricultural revolution ancestors is just as valuable and hardly a platform worth criticising.
I am currently reading Christopher Hitchens. He is an amazing thinker. Wright is quite ignorant and grating - his voice is enough to make me turn this off! I dislike debates with people like him, because there is no real 'debate'. Hitchens ROCKS!!!! The moral arguments are sheer common sense and I am completely in agreement with Hitchens that morality is innate and does not need religion - in fact, religion is fundamentally immoral in nature and does poison everything. Fundamentalism is scary and I live in fear of the monotheistic religions of the world simply because they feed on violence and arrogance, but also because they do not use intellect or compassion despite their positing. Religion is fundamentally evil. The world would be much better without any religion.

Wright shouldn't debate if he's going to be such a douche the whole time and interrupt.
