I believe that you can believe what you want - as can I. Neither Theist nor Non-Theist can prove or disprove God. As your sign in the video points out - it's an element of faith.
I don't deny nor decry dinosaurs, nor evolution, nor global ice ages, nor floods, nor the ever-expanding Universe... but am having a bit of a tough time explaining the cause of the Big Bang without a clear original cause... (but that's a seperate subject).
However, I can assure you that I shan't put my beliefs into play in law or governance of the land. You and I both are free - because we live in the USA (or UK or Australia or New Zealand) to do and say what we like as long as we break no laws. And neither of us should condone violence - much less wars - based upon our beliefs. Are we in concord on those point? (as it is, I think, a self-evident truth?).
I am a bit perplexed as to why you felt compelled to put so much energy into defending a cause. The time and energy put into the video probably could have been better spent feeding some hungry people - or voting to end some wars..... That's what I will do after writing this message....
(However, Voltron clearly is a character created in the 50's in a comic book..... That being said - if someone wants to worship Voltron - so be it.)
And - in some sense - you actually do have a belief - and a faith - that there is no God. Sounds semi-quasi-religious to me.......
Ugh... how many times must I read/hear that same contradictory statement? "Atheism is a belief/faith"? You're saying that Belief = Non-Belief. That makes absolutely no sense at all.
Faith, in this context, is the complete belief in something for which there is no evidence. You can't have faith that something does not exist. You simply do not believe it exists.
The use of Voltron is perfect for making this simple point, but I think many people who have yet to break through the mental barrier built by faith actually see the point. I tend to use leprechauns as an example. Being an atheist is no different from anyone who is an "aleprachaunist".
