From Research Channel:
Bernard Duncan Mayes recounts how social and doctrinal oppression posed fundamental challenges to his own belief system in his book "Escaping God's Closet: The Revelations of a Queer Priest". He speaks about his life as a priest, journalist, university teacher and administrator, and gay rights activist. Mayes, originally from England, not only took part in the creation of the Parsonage, an Episcopalian ministry in San Francisco, but also played a major role in the organization of PBS and NPR.
