Richard Dawkins seems to be one of those people who is remarkably awkward with humour. His speciality seems to be limited to communicating complex ideas in brilliant simplicity.
I don't think Richard is bad at humor. He's been very good at it in the past. I think the problem here is that this was rather lowbrow humor and he looked like he felt out of place not because it was humor, but because it was lowbrow.
